The HorseShoe Crab
For my dissection my partner and I were assign the horseshoe crab, personally I was not impressed. The formaldehyde that preserves the animal actually got inside and ruined all of it internal organs, so there wasn't quite that much to cut into. We studied these animals before we started the dissections and learned all the background information. What I learned about this animal is....
- The domain : Eukaryote
- The Kingdom this animal belongs in is the : Animalia
- The Phylum: Anthropod
- Class: Merostomata
- Order : Xiphosura
- Family : Well it has its own so it is in the Horseshoe crab fam
- Genus : Limulus
- Species : Xiphosura
Observed Dissections
In biology I also observed a lamprey dissection of my fellow peers. I was also let down because lamprey are know for there insane amount of sharp teeth and it was a juvenile lamprey so it was very small.
